The Elemis Skin Lab is coming to town!

March 2, 2015

Do you ever worry about the condition of your skin?  Perhaps too much sunshine in younger years or have you been using the right products for your skin type?  Throughout March, the Elemis Skin Lab will be in 3 of our salons for ONE WEEK ONLY! You are just 15 minutes away from a lifetime change to your daily skincare and way of living!

For a £10 booking fee, you can find out the condition of your skin (this is then redeemable against products on the day).  Skin is no longer classified by age but by lifestyle.  During your booking, the Elemis Skincare Specialist will take you through your Lifestyle Consultation and take images of your skin to assess its condition today.  This is an interactive opportunity for you to touch, feel and learn about the products you can use to meet your skin’s specific needs.

We also wanted to share some factors that will impact your skin and some things you can do to help your skin:

Sun damage
No matter your age, you need to protect your skin from the sun. Not only can sun exposure lead to skin cancer, it will also cause dryness, sun spots, wrinkles and other visible signs of ageing.  Always use a moisturizer, sunscreen and cosmetics that contain SPF 15 or higher.

Diet
Most cases of bad skin come from the things we eat, so pay close attention to what you are putting into your body.  Avoid too much alcohol or fatty, processed foods.

If you want skin to look younger and more supple, drinking enough water is a must.  Drinking 8 glasses of water per day will flush out skin-sapping toxins and give you a natural glow.

Eat food rich in lutein which helps protect the skin from the inside out. Good sources of lutein are egg yolks & leafy dark green vegetables.  Also aim to eat foods that are high in antioxidants like berries, broccoli, leafy greens (kale, spinach) and tomatoes.

Vitamin E is another must for skin health.  Add vegetable oils, wheat germ, nuts, seeds & olives to your diet for healthy, glowing skin.

Skincare routine
It sounds obvious but make sure you clean your face, then use toner, then moisturise to make the most of skincare products.  Exfoliate your face but don’t go overboard; once or twice a week is plenty for luminous skin.  Spend time finding the right skincare products for your skin.  This is where the Elemis Skin Lab will help.

Get your beauty sleep!
Beauty Sleep is real so make sure you get enough of it, as new skin cells grow over night and replace older ones.  Research suggests we should be aiming for 7-8 hours sleep per night. We recommend moisturising morning and evening. While you sleep, your skin renews itself, so give your cells a helping hand at night time!

We strongly recommend finding out the condition of your skin and what products you specifically need.
